Ubi Bank Headquarters

The historic headquarters located in the heart of the town’s Baroque fabric has been revitalized through a meticulous heritage restoration. The prestigious complex was sensitively renovated, optimizing its internal spaces while preserving its original historical character.

The project involved a complete reorganization of the interior spaces, streamlining circulation through the addition of three new stairwells and more functional floor plans. Former storage and archive areas were repurposed into modern, welcoming office spaces, while the building’s entire technical infrastructure—mechanical, electrical, and specialist systems—was fully replaced and modernized. While the system efficiency was improved, the presence of the external technical units has been discreetly integrated to minimize their visual impact on the historic context.

On the exterior, several infilled openings were reinstated, restoring the original rhythm and harmony to the façades. A primary focus of the intervention was providing universal access to the building through the main entrance on Via Roma, now fully accessible to people with reduced mobility.
The renovation spanned the building’s two distinct wings across all six levels, including the basement. The project included the construction of new internal partitions, the creation of fully accessible restrooms, and the upgrading of existing staircases to meet modern safety standards.

Beyond structural changes, the project prioritizes occupants’ well-being. Environmental conditions were significantly improved through the integration of controlled mechanical ventilation and a bespoke lighting design specifically engineered to maximize visual comfort and natural light penetration.
