The new climbing sports center is conceived as a strategic project for the town's environmental and touristic enhancement.
Located at the northwest entrance to the town of Chiusa Pesio, the project area works as a visual and functional gateway between the urban fabric of the town center and its connection to the surrounding landscape—from the ruins of the medieval Mirabello castle to the mountain chain of the Alps.
The volume that hosts the main training space houses 16-meter high climbing walls and will be the main distinctive feature of the building.
On the outside, the volume will be clad with vertical slats whose irregular, fragmented, and angular profiles are designed to evoke the multi-layered skyline of the alpine landscape.
The lower part of this tower will be made of prefabricated concrete panels, colored and textured to achieve a distinctive stone effect.
The volume containing the service spaces is characterized by a metal clad envelope that wraps around the main installations, while its accessible roof garden functions as an elevated plaza that connects seamlessly to the road on the upper level.
