Mediterranean Villa

The project transforms an existing building, the result of a previous, unfinished intervention, into a dwelling that celebrates the beauty of the Ligurian context through a sophisticated and functional design.

The architectural concept is based on a delicate balance between the memory of the place and design innovation. While the general four-level structure of the building — adapted to the terrain’s morphology — was preserved, its aesthetic character underwent a profound restyling.

The design relies on a series of features that deliver a rich, dynamic sensorial experience also through the simultaneous presence of contrasting elements. The building stands out for its pure and linear geometric forms, emphasized by light-colored plastered surfaces that capture the sun’s light.

In contrast to this general linearity, certain elements, such as the panoramic terrace and the slightly rounded walls, add dynamism and originality to the project.

Warm, local natural stone clads the retaining walls and terracing, creating a harmonious dialogue with the plaster and emphasizing the connection to the region.

Panoramic windows frame the surrounding landscape and offer breathtaking sea views, fostering continuity between interior and exterior spaces.

The project is based on harmonious integration into the landscape and context, reflecting an attitude of environmental respect. The use of low environmental impact materials, the implementation of renewable energy systems, and the careful design of the external space all contribute to creating a truly sustainable and integrated home.
