Cantina Comunale di La Morra (La Morra Wineries Association)
With a constant dialogue between tradition and innovation, the project seeks both to maintain and update the clearly recognizable image of a disused Neo-Gothic building that characterises the main square overlooking the vineyard landscape.
The regeneration of the complex known as “Il Belvedere” aims to return to the community a building of great historical and cultural importance and to reactivate its central role in the urban fabric. The project will deliver multipurpose spaces for cultural and social activities, specifically designed for community gatherings and the promotion of the most renowned local produce, wine. The complex will include spaces for learning about and tasting the products of the local Wineries Association, spaces for events and exhibitions, as well as a restaurant, all aiming to re-establish the site’s historical vocation for hospitality.
The project fully restores the building’s Neo-Gothic façade on the town square while the other facade presents a contemporary reinterpretation of the local landscape through an original colored stone cladding. The internal spaces have been designed to be functional, flexible, and welcoming, with careful consideration given to material selection and acoustic comfort. Furthermore, the project includes updating all internal systems to current regulations concerning safety, energy saving, and accessibility.
